How to
Plan a Visit
Visiting Our Church Family for the First Time?
We can’t wait to meet you! At New Bluffton Worship, you won’t be lost in a big auditorium. Our location in a former bar is warm and welcoming. You’ll find we are small enough for people to learn your name!
We meet every Sunday at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
What to wear? Most of us come a bit casual since we live in a resort area. Shorts are certainly ok!
And there is nothing like live music, meeting people in person and making real connections in a world where it is too easy to feel disconnected and lonely.

Our Location
We’re located centrally in Bluffton between Hwy 278 and the Bluffton Parkway in Sheridan Park. The New Bluffton Worship is on the corner of Persimmon St. and Scott’s Way. Our address is 39 Persimmon St., Bluffton, SC 29910. Look for us in Building 200 – across the street from Crossfit 843.
When you arrive
Park near either entrance (we have two!). On Sundays, most of the other plaza occupants are closed, so you may park anywhere around the location.
Look for Building 200 and the signs by door #203, or enter under the blue awning on Scott's Way through door #204.
Grab a coffee, water, or quick treat at the back bar before finding a seat for the service!
Families with children? Look for a greeter to find the children' area. You'll fill out a short form before the children head in for a fun morning learning about God. If your child prefers to stay in the worship service instead of joining us in the children' area, we have activity bags to keep them busy.
FAQs
Our worship services are at 9:00 & 10:30AM on Sunday mornings in our worship center which was a former pool hall and bar. We also livestream via YouTube or Facebook (facebook.com/BlufftonWorship) or watch here on our website. Most Sundays, the services are the same.
Whatever is comfortable. You are just as welcome in jeans and a t-shirt or if you dress up.
You may park anywhere around building 200 and beyond. Most all the commercial businesses around us are closed on Sunday. There are a number of handicap spaces.
We have two entrances in Building 200. The #203 glass doors face Persimmon St. or enter under our awning at the #204 door facing Scott Way. Greeters are stationed at both doors to assist you and help you should you need childcare or escort to the children’s church area.
There are no steps to come inside the worship space, so it’s very handicapped accessible.
Yes! Our nursery is open from 9:00-11: 45am on Sundays for infants through age 2. Be sure to sign in and let us know anything special about your little one, and how to reach you during worship. The nursery is just around the corner from all the worship seating so you can easily check back in during the service if you want.
Some of our children enjoy staying in worship with their parents or guardians. We have some activity bags at the entrances to help occupy elementary children. At our 10:30AM worship hour, we offer a one-room children’s church for children who are 3-years through 5th grade. By combining ages, we find younger children adapt quickly if they have siblings with them. Our older children mentor the younger ones, giving them purpose while learning, too. Children get great food, crafts, music and messages during the hour with our trained staff including some teachers who are bi-lingual. Youth stay in worship, and most Sundays (unless there is a special event) have their own youth group meeting at noon-1:15pm and it includes lunch. Click here for a video about our children’s and youth programs.
Our worship services typically last 60 (and sometimes 70) minutes. They include music, prayer, and a scripture-centered message based on a sermon series theme.
Our band plays contemporary songs. Many Sundays they include a well-known older hymn but arranged for contemporary worship. The band is small and talented and won’t blow your ears out!
Our pastor is The Rev. Daniel Burbage. He is assisted by Executive Minister Monica Barricks as well as some members of our congregation on occasion.
You will not be singled out during worship, but we do have Connect cards in the pew pockets for when you are ready to provide information so we can add you to emails or help answer questions. The reverse side has a place for prayer requests. We have a culture of trying to wear name tags for those who are comfortable which helps us call each other by name. Let’s face it, sometimes it takes seeing and not just hearing a name to recall it.
The short version is that the God we serve is the creator of everything we see and don’t see, sustaining the universe as he works for the redemption of the entire world. Our God is Triune – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – and God’s defining characteristic is love, as shown most clearly by Jesus’ willingness to die for us on the cross so that we might live with God and one another forever. We also believe God sent the Holy Spirit to be our guide and advocate. We are centered in Christ and grounded in the Bible, the Word of God, holy and inspired. We interpret the Scriptures through reason, experience and tradition and seek to apply them to the life of following Jesus. For more on our beliefs, click here. We are an independent, non-denominational church with Wesleyan roots. That means we sometimes include creeds and prayers such as the Apostle’s creed and The Lord’s Prayer. The words will appear on the screens. The New Bluffton Worship welcomes all, wherever you are in your life or spiritual journey.
Generally, communion is observed on the last Sunday of the month, toward the end of the service. Everyone is welcome to fully participate. We also offer gluten free wafers.
Of course not. But if you do feel you’d like to when you are with us, a basket is passed during our final hymn, or you can scan a QR code which will allow for mobile and online giving. Many in our congregation now set up their giving online, so they won’t be using the baskets and that means you will not feel awkward if you do not place something in. But do put any Connect Card/Prayer requests there if you’d like.
There are several ways to get connected. You can contact our great staff and ask them questions about small groups, mission opportunities, music, worship, and more. You can explore ways to serve by clicking here. Or you can visit on Sunday morning, meet us, and let us know what you are interested in by filling out a Connect Card now or get one when you come.
